DANGEROUS SUBSTANCES (EXPLOSIVES) REGULATIONS 2004 (NO 10 OF 2004) - REG 274

    (1)     A person must not supply consumer fireworks at any time outside the period in each year (the Queen's birthday supply period ) that—

        (a)     starts at 8 am on the first Monday in June; and

        (b)     ends at 5 pm on the second Monday in June.

Maximum penalty: 20 penalty units.

Note     The 2nd Monday in June is an annual public holiday for the Queen's birthday (see Holidays Act 1958 , s 3 (1) (a) (viii)).

    (2)     An offence against this regulation is a strict liability offence.
