OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (CERTIFICATION OF PLANT USERS AND OPERATORS) REGULATIONS 2000 (2000 NO 48) - REG 38
Certain work may be done without a certificate
(1) This regulation applies to a person who, before the
commencement of these regulations—
(a)
operated a boom-type elevating work platform or a
concrete placing boom; or
(b)
erected, altered or dismantled mobile scaffold, in circumstances in which a
person or object could fall 3m or more from the scaffold.
(2)
A person may, for 1 year after the commencement of these regulations,
do work of a kind to which this regulation applies without a certificate of
competency.
(3) In this regulation:
"concrete placing boom" means
powered mobile truck-mounted plant incorporating a knuckle boom that is
capable of power-operated slewing and luffing to distribute concrete by
pumping the concrete through a pipeline attached to, or forming part of, the
boom of the plant.
