(b) driving the vehicle in the course of his or her duties as an emergency
worker.
"emergency worker" means—
(a) a member of the ambulance service rendering or providing transport for
sick or injured persons; or
(b) a member of the fire brigade, the rural fire fighting service or the
emergency service providing transport in the course of an emergency;
or
(c) a person who is declared by the road transport authority under
paragraph 66 (Approvals etc by road transport authority) to be an emergency
worker.

would normally display a sign with the word ‘expired' when the meter

issued by the road transport authority (by means of a parking ticket machine)
for display in or on a vehicle as evidence of the prepayment of a parking
fee.
"parking ticket machine "means a device designed to issue

ticket parking area.

pay parking space

disability means a person—
(a) who cannot walk because of permanent or temporary loss of the use of 1
or both legs or another permanent medical or physical condition; or
(b) whose physical condition is detrimentally affected by walking 100m;

(c) who needs to use a walking frame, crutches, callipers, a scooter, a
wheelchair or a similar mobility aid.
"police vehicle" means
any vehicle driven by a person who is—
(a) a police officer; and
(b) driving the vehicle in the course of his or her duties as a police
officer.
