Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations(1) A driver (except the driver of a public bus) must not stop at a bus stop, or on the road, within 20m before a sign on the road that indicates the bus stop, and 10m after the sign, unless the driver stops at a place on a length of road, or in an area, to which a parking control sign applies and the driver is permitted to stop at that place under this regulation.
Maximum penalty: 20 penalty units.
(1A) However, the driver of a demand responsive service vehicle may stop at a bus stop, or on the road, within 20m before a sign on the road that indicates the bus stop, and 10m after the sign if—
(a) the driver is dropping off or picking up passengers; and
(b) the vehicle is authorised to stop at the bus stop under an authority under the Road Transport (Public Passenger Services) Regulation 2002
, section 305 (1) (DRS vehicles—bus stop and bus zone authorities).
(2) For this section, distances are measured in the direction in which the driver is driving.
(3) In this section:
"authorised to stop", at a bus stop, for a demand responsive service vehicle, means a bus stop that the demand responsive service vehicle is authorised to stop at under an authority under the Road Transport (Public Passenger Services) Regulation 2002

"road" does not include a road related area, but includes any shoulder of the road.
