(1) If the road transport authority decides that the use of a ticket parking area, or ticket parking space, should be temporarily discontinued, the authority may close the area or space by—
(a) for the closure of a ticket parking area—installing a sign, at or near each traffic sign applying to the area, that displays words to the effect that the area is closed; or
(b) for the closure of a ticket parking space—installing a sign, at or near the space, that displays words to that effect.
(2) If a parking authority decides that the use of a ticket parking area, or ticket parking space, within its area of operations should be temporarily discontinued, the authority may close the area or space by—
(a) for the closure of a ticket parking area—installing a sign, at or near each traffic sign applying to the area, that displays words to the effect that the area is closed; or
(b) for the closure of a ticket parking space—installing a sign, at or near the space, that displays words to that effect.
(3) A driver must not park in a ticket parking area or ticket parking space that has been closed under subsection (1) or (2).
Maximum penalty: 20 penalty units.
(4) In this section:
"sign" includes a board, device, plate, screen, words or anything else, whether or not installed with or on a traffic sign.
