EVIDENCE ACT 1995 - SECT 176
Questions of foreign law to be decided by judge
If, in a proceeding in which there is a jury, it is necessary to
ascertain the law of another country which is applicable to the facts of the
case, any question as to the effect of the evidence adduced with respect to
that law is to be decided by the judge alone.
