MEDICINES, POISONS AND THERAPEUTIC GOODS REGULATION 2008 (NO 42 OF 2008) - REG 51

Authorisation conditions for issuing requisitions for medicines—Act, s 44 (1) (b) and (2) (b)

A person's authorisation under section 50 to issue a requisition for a medicine is subject to the following conditions:

        (a)     if the requisition is a written requisition—the requisition complies with section 55 (General requirements for written requisitions) and section 56 (Particulars for requisitions);

        (b)     if the requisition is an oral requisition—

              (i)     the person believes on reasonable grounds that issuing the requisition is reasonably necessary for the treatment of a person; and

              (ii)     the quantity of the medicine requisitioned is not more than the amount reasonably necessary for the person's treatment; and

              (iii)     the requisition complies with section 56.
