ROAD TRANSPORT (SAFETY AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT) REGULATION 2017 (NO 45 OF 2017) - REG 48

Parking certain vehicles on residential land prohibited

    (1)     This section applies to a vehicle, whether loaded or unloaded, that is—

        (a)     a stock truck; or

        (b)     a semitrailer with the load space permanently enclosed by rigid construction or with sides enclosed by nonrigid material and a rigid roof; or

        (c)     higher than 3.6m and used for commercial purposes.

    (2)     A person must not park a vehicle to which this section applies on residential land.

Maximum penalty:  20 penalty units.

    (3)     An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.

    (4)     In this section:

"semitrailer"—see the Road Transport (Vehicle Registration) Regulation 2000

, dictionary.

"stock truck" means a vehicle that has a GVM over 4.5t and is built or used to transport livestock.
