Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations Australian Capital Territory Numbered Regulations(1) A driver must not stop in a bus zone unless the driver is driving a public bus (except a public bus of a kind that is not permitted to stop in the bus zone by information on or with the bus zone sign applying to the bus zone).
Maximum penalty: 20 penalty units.
(2) However, the driver of a demand responsive service vehicle may stop in a bus zone if—
(a) the driver is dropping off or picking up a passenger; and
(b) the vehicle is authorised to stop in the bus zone under an authority under the Road Transport (Public Passenger Services) Regulation 2002
, section 305 (1) (DRS vehicles—bus stop and bus zone authorities).
(3) In this regulation:
"bus zone" means a length of a road to which a bus zone sign applies.
